EXTENDED DEADLINE: December 1st, 2012
Art for Commuters and Pattison Onestop are accepting proposals by artists, curators and organizations for original projects to feature on Pattison Onestop’s network of 300 subway platform screens across the Toronto transit system.
We are also looking for projects created for other Pattison media including our digital mall network across Canada, as well as for digital billboards in Toronto and other Canadian cities.
All our screens are silent, and interactivity is not possible. Video, animation, photography, digital imagery, illustration, text and conceptual projects are all acceptable.
Projects created for the TTC and shopping centre screens can be produced as a series of 30 or 60 seconds pieces. Please note that artwork is screened once every 10 minutes on the TTC (all day) and once every 5 minutes on the mall network.
Projects created for digital billboards can be produced as as series of 6 or 8 second pieces. Some digital billboards support video (8 seconds) and some support still imagery (8 seconds). Please note that artwork is screened approximately once per minute on digital billboards.
Please take into account that projects will be displayed within the context of a public forum and should reflect an awareness of such an open platform for artistic communication. We are especially interested in work that explores urban issues, urban space and community.
Art for Commuters and Pattison Onestop bring art to millions of people on the Toronto subway system, and many more on screens across Canada through our year-round ‘Art in Transit’ programming.
Some of the past projects produced for our screens include:
